Jen Butler
Writer | Coach | Mom
I coach, write, and teach to encourage moms to practice self-compassion and forge cup-filling connections, empowering them to show up as their amazing, authentic selves in their families and communities.
I write about mom life, midlife, alcohol-free life, staying fit after 40, perimenopause, and more.
My writing has been featured on Motherly and This Naked Mind. I post regularly on my Substack, Best Mom Never, and I have been blogging since 2018. Season one of the Maintaining Mama Podcast is available on Spotify, Google Podcasts, and other players. I am currently working on my first memoir.
I graduated with honors from Brown University in 2002 and received an MBA from the University of Cambridge in 2009. I was a stay-at-home mom for a decade before deciding during COVID that I wanted to piece together a portfolio career to support other moms while continuing to be present for my kids. In addition to writing, I am a life and sobriety coach and fitness instructor. Previous jobs have included assisting on archaeological excavations in Pompeii and Oaxaca, Mexico; teaching anthropology out of a converted Winnebago for the American Museum of Natural History; and working as a project manager for London’s Olympic Park.
