I’m Jen Butler, and I believe wholeheartedly in the power of sharing stories that bring us home to ourselves.
Through writing, coaching, and teaching, I help women rediscover themselves in midlife. I encourage my readers and clients to practice self-compassion, forge cup-filling connections, and take up space as their amazing, authentic selves.
I write about mom life, midlife, alcohol-free life, staying fit after 40, perimenopause, PMDD, ditching diet culture, and more. I am also an alcohol-free life coach for women. If you are interested in coaching with me, learn more here.
My debut memoir, Mom, Rediscovered: My Midlife Breakup with Drinking and Diet Culture, was published by Invisible Ink Books on October 21, 2025!
My writing has been featured on Motherly and This Naked Mind. I post regularly on my Substack, Best Mom Never.
I graduated with honors from Brown University in 2002 and received an MBA from the University of Cambridge in 2009. I was a stay-at-home mom for a decade before deciding during COVID that I wanted to piece together a portfolio career to support other moms while continuing to be present for my kids. In addition to writing, I am an alcohol-free life coach for women and fitness instructor. Previous jobs have included assisting on archaeological excavations in Pompeii, Italy and Oaxaca, Mexico; teaching anthropology out of a converted Winnebago for the American Museum of Natural History; and working as a project manager for London’s Olympic Park.
